Updates on Research Task Progresses

Task 2 Plan

We will develop a tall timber building system model capable of nonlinear dynamic analysis of archetype buildings subjected to ground motions. The modeling will include updated CLT rocking wall component models calibrated with biaxial test data. The model developed in this Task will reflect the complete system behavior, including the behavior of gravity systems, diaphragms and collectors, and certain nonstructural components.

Additionally, damage to those components is of paramount importance when assessing the resilience of tall timber buildings. Thus, the model will be able to assess force and deformation demands on those elements and provide inputs for fragility based analysis in Task 3 and later the whole building resilience assessment in Task 5 and 6.
